Bringing human questions to computational worlds
Human Technology Futures
is a group of UC Berkeley researchers and a proposed UC Berkeley department centering human experience in a rapidly changing technological world.
Colloquium Series
This colloquium series introduces Berkeley faculty at the heart of Human Technology Futures (HTF) and other exciting researchers.
HTF researchers and students explore how AI and other technologies are embedded in and transform society, how data and algorithms shape human life, and how computational methods open new pathways into culture and human understanding.
HTF seeks to advance knowledge and leadership at the frontier of human and social responsibilities of technological development. It forges new educational pathways that equip students with durable capabilities combining humanistic and social scientific inquiry, technical competence, and ethical practice.
